It is typically understood that warmth and moisture are essential for mold and mildew to grow and flourish, immediately after all, that's where by you see it growing. What's not so frequently observed is that a good deal of the moist, cozy air comes to the residence in the outside. It seems fully logical that a cellar, basement or crawl space requires satisfactory ventilation. It is true, in some locations of the country, specifically in the dry, arid West. In the damp Northeast, however, the opposite is true. Letting warm, moist air into the crawl room is like adding nourishment for the plants, almost like watering a flower! The moist air hits the foundation and also the water condenses and drips all over the place, feeding every one of the little fungi growing.
