Powdery mildew on plants is one of the most ordinary and easily
recognized plant diseases. Approximately, there is no such type of
plant, which is protected from this disease, but on the other hand
some are more at risk than others. The plants, which are mostly
targeted by powdery mildew, are such as phlox, monarda, crab apples,
lilacs, grapes, roses, squash, cucumbers and many other. This powdery
mildew looks like a powdery splotches, which are of white and grey in
color, and they are located on the leaves of plants. There are so many
diseases, which can damage our garden, but there are many ways, which
can be used to decrease the chance of diseases that can affect the
plants.
Plant diseases can be fungal, bacterial or viral. These all
diseases can enter in garden by different ways. Several times, it can
be difficult to identify the disease. Symptoms repeatedly emerge
similar from bacterial to viral or even from fungal also. Rather than
bacteria and viruses, insect can also damage our plants. There are so
many types of garden diseases such as, powdery mildew on plants, gray
mold, sooty mold, rust, rose black spot and many others. For a virus
free garden, we must have to create the best growing environment for
our plants and it basically means that we have to put the right plants
on the right place and the soil should be soft and well adjusted with
plenty of organic material which is fertilizer.
We have to keep new plants in our garden in order to avoid increase
of such disease. There are also some certified disease-free plants,
which are suitable for our garden. Keep your garden free of weeds and
plant wreckage, because they both provide a breeding ground for
influenced disease, which carries pests. There are also some chemical
treatments, which are available for powdery mildew, but instructive
controls are typical as effective for managing powdery mildew inside
the home.
We have to keep the plants in healthy ventilated areas so that it
can avoid from overcrowding and we have to choose resistant varieties
whenever it is possible. The first symptom of infection is to cut off
the plants or remove and arrange all infected plant parts. There are
several infected plants, which may need to be superfluous. It may be
needed to grow a new plant by taking a small portion from healthy
tissue. There are various preventive fungicides, which are obtainable
for powdery mildew.
We can get rid of powdery mildew on plants by several methods such
as, mixing one tablespoon baking soda with one gallon of water or by
adding one or two drops of liquid soap to help the solution to stick
on to the plant and also we can spray it on the affected areas. The
conditions, which support the growth and spread of powdery mildew
include poor air circulation and crowded plantings. If the plants are
infected then we must have to remove and demolish all infected parts
of that plant.
